Being a City-born child, Judy established involvement with the Civic City in 1986 when she began employment with the City of London Corporation in Libraries and Archives.
Judy is a well-known face throughout the City. Main roles have included: Foreman of the Guildable Manor of Southwark (2018-19); Master of the Worshipful Company of Upholders (2017-18); President of the City Livery Club (2012-13) and a Company Director (2003-18); Master of Cripplegate Ward Club (2013-14); President of Farringdon Ward Club (2015-16); Master of the Tanners Company of Bermondsey (2016-17), and Court Assistant of the Worshipful Company of Basketmakers.
She is also a member of the Great 13, Lady Masters, Prime Masters and Spitfire Past Masters Associations, a life member of the Guild of Freemen, a member of the Royal Society of St. George (City of London, plus Council member for the Westminster Branch), and a member of the United Wards’ Club. Former Archivist to the Worshipful Company of Upholders and the City Livery Club.
Judy has always had an interest in wine, spirits and beer and studied at the Wine and Spirit Education Trust School. She joined the Confrérie du Sabre d'Or in 2004, becoming the Constable for the City of London and an Echevin in 2007. She held both these roles for 6 years, only stepping down after she was appointed Chancelier and Maître des Armes at the 2013 AGM. In 2016 she was made Dame Grand Commandeur of the Order. She is a Dame Officier of the Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne. Past roles include, Chairman and Hon. Secretary, City Livery Wine Circle (Founder member 1999), Chairman of the International Wine and Food Society, London Branch and she has been an Ale Sizer and Ale Conner for the Guildable Manor.
Judy’s main interests include the City, collecting antiquities, jewellery, science fiction/fantasy films, classical music/opera, fine dining, wine and champagne.
