David Herbert

(Maître de la Communication)

David was born and educated in London. After an engineering apprenticeship and a career in computer networking, he is now retired and enjoys music, restaurants, good wine, film and of course Champagne!

 

David is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Basketmakers’ where he has been Chief Steward and a Court Assistant. He is also a Liveryman of the Musicians’ Company having created their website devoted to a 500 year archive of rare music manuscripts, artworks and company documentation.

He is Past Chairman of the Coleman Street Ward Club, having created and managed its website for many years. David also created and continues to run the website for the Broad Street Ward Club. He is an active member of the Royal Society of St George, serving on the National Council and Executive Committee.

He lives with wife, Sandra, in Dorset but still very much enjoys the social life of the City of London, together with its traditions and pageantry.

He is a Commander of the Confrérie du Sabre d’Or, Deputy Editor of The Golden Sabre magazine and creator/manager of this new website. David also manages the bookings and table arrangements for all Club Events, he looks after the Members' Register and serves on the Embassy Council as Maître de la Communication.
