Novice Sabrage and a Champagne Reception

(of the Grand Cru 'Tradition' from Delavenne Père et Fils)

will be followed by a specially selected, 5-course Chinese banquet

each one paired with a different Grand Cru cuvée

all provided by the producer: Champagne Delavenne, Bouzy, Reims

The Confrérie du Sabre d'Or's celebration of Chinese New Year is again being held within the traditional and splendid surroundings of the Phoenix Palace Restaurant.

Throughout 2019, the UK Confrérie is also celebrating its 20 year anniversary. Established in 1999 by Julian White, the UK & Ireland Ambassade has grown to nearly 500 members; has a stable of Caveaux de Sabrage approaching 30 venues; a glossy annual journal of the highest quality; a vibrant, informative website offering online membership and event booking; and a list of Champagne parties to rival any dining organisation.

So, it has been decided to make our 2019 visit to the Phoenix an extra special occasion! We will be serving 5 Cuvées (shown above) of Grand Cru Champagnes from Delavenne Père & Fils of Bouzy, Reims, together with their non-sparkling Grand Cru Bouzy Rouge, Pinot Noir.

The Market Manager for Delavenne, Susan Adda, will be with us at the Phoenix to introduce and present each Cuvée.
